LAWRENCE, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/12/10 -- Key Polymer Corporation, manufacturer of specialty adhesives :

and chemical compounds :

, is proving that Basic Employee Education :

from Northern Essex Community College's Center for Business and Industry is a win-win situation.
According to Robert Baker, Key Polymer President, "In early 2009, we instituted a voluntary educational program focusing on math and language skills for longer-term employees and management training for front line supervisors. These programs proved to be very successful at the employee level. In addition, Key Polymer has received a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Workforce Training grant of $22,000 to enable the programs to be extended through 2010."
Ms. Jeanne Mosher, instructor with NECC's Institute for Community and Workforce Development, brought her many years of experience in corporate training programs to Key Polymer for 7:00AM classes twice weekly. The supervisory training program utilizes the college's own courses including "Supervisory Skills Bootcamp," "Understanding Behavioral Styles,"
"Improving Spoken Communication," and "How to Handle Difficult People and Conflict at Work."
Mr. Baker added, "Key Polymer's business plan is based on new projects that bring with them more detailed processes and the need for additional record keeping at the point of production. Improved calculation, reading and writing skills give our employees confidence and enthusiasm to be comfortable carrying out their new responsibilities."
