Google is expected to release some of its core tools for application development in open source.

The company releases some of its tools for application development in open source.

Mountain View, California - Google is reportedly releasing some of its tools for application development in open source. As reported by PC World, the company is

making the tools accessible to external programmers who may use them for developing faster applications online.

Amit Agarwal, a Google product manager, is quoted by PC World as stating of the change, "By enabling and allowing developers to use the very same tools that Google uses, we hope that they can not only build rich applications but also make the Web really, really fast. That's our primary motive in getting these tools outside to the global community."

Agarwal is further quoted as stating of one of the tools, Closure Compiler, "It has served as the standard Javascript library for pretty much any large, public Web application that Google is serving today."
