Mark Foxall, Deputy Director of the Douglas County Department of Corrections, featurd Keynote Speaker Kaplan University's Omaha campus held a graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 28, for 109 students. The ceremony took place at 10:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Central at 3321 South 72nd St., Omaha. Mark Foxall, deputy director for the Douglas County Department of Corrections, was the featured keynote speaker for the ceremony.
Student were recognized for earning bachelor's degrees, associate degrees
and diplomas in one of 12 programs in the allied health, nursing, business, information technology, legal studies, criminal justice and interdisciplinary fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study, many of which are in high demand throughout the state. According to the Long-Term Occupational Projections for Nebraska Statewide, a report by the Nebraska Workforce Development, Labor Market Information, Nebraska Department of Labor, dental assistant positions are expected to increase by 37 percent, medical assisting positions by 39 percent, practical nursing positions by 11.5 percent and paralegal positions by 18 percent from 2004 to 2014.
'We wish our graduates all the best as they venture into their new careers,' said Dr. Sandra Muskopf, president of Kaplan University Omaha campus. 'We are also thankful to all of the spouses, children, family members, significant others and friends who encouraged and supported our graduates throughout their educational journey.'
