Juhl Wind Inc. (OTCBB:JUHL), the Leader in Community Wind Power, today announced that its Next Generation Power Systems subsidiary (“NextGen”) has received orders for fourteen (14) of its 33 kW on-site, small wind turbine systems. The orders come from new and existing dealers signed up by NextGen in a handful of Midwestern states and are for projects to be delivered

and installed in 2009. The orders total over $880,000 in business for Juhl’s NextGen subsidiary and reflect the Company’s initial success in growing the recently acquired subsidiary. NextGen generated revenue of approximately $450,000 for the entire calendar year 2008.

“The orders we have received at NextGen are very consistent with our growth plan for our small wind and solar subsidiary,” stated Dan Juhl, CEO of Juhl Wind. “When we acquired NextGen, we knew that there was significant growth available in smaller, on-site wind systems throughout the U.S. This growth is being stimulated by a number of federal and state incentives available to the end user that help increase and accelerate their return on investment. We also believe our NextGen unit is benefiting from the combination of our proven track record with on-site wind coupled with the initial stages of the growth plan that we have put in place for this area of our business. These turbines are perfectly suited for the on-site wind system market and in particular for smaller communities, colleges and universities, school districts and direct at farming operations.”

“As we see real growth at NextGen, we are taking steps to strengthen this business unit to take further advantage of the sizable market opportunity available to us in small wind and solar systems,” added John Mitola, President of Juhl Wind. “These steps include the recruitment of new dealers and distributors and plans to expand our manufacturing capabilities in the future. While we are nearly doubling all of NextGen’s business for 2008 through the middle of the year 2009, we believe it is just the tip of the iceberg. This $880,000 in business is coming from just a handful of dealers in the Midwest. As we expand our dealer network and educate our customers about the attractive federal and state grants/incentives, we are confident we will continue to see strong growth for NextGen.”
