Journal Broadcast Group CFO to Retire

Ron Kurtis, senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Journal Broadcast Group, today announced he will retire effective December 27, 2009. Journal Broadcast Group is a division of Journal Communications, Inc. (NYSE:JRN).

Doug Kiel, vice chairman and CEO, said, “Ron has been an integral member of our leadership team and I have truly valued his knowledge of the industry and financial guidance as we have grown our broadcast group. He leaves our company with our thanks and appreciation for a job well done and our hope that he will enjoy his retirement.”


Kurtis said, “It’s been my privilege to work with extremely talented people over my career at Journal. I am proud to have helped our company grow from

a Milwaukee-centric organization to a broadcast group with more than forty stations across the country. We’ve focused on creating a strong team and worked to make each market more successful for the future.” Kurtis is a thirty-six year employee with Journal.
