2013-01-21 23:12:47 - James Getting, PE, has joined the Florida operations of SCS Engineers (SCS) as a Project Director.
Tampa, FL - He will be responsible for assisting SCS clients in the Southeastern U.S. with their landfill gas management and other solid waste management needs. He is a former regional landfill gas (LFG) operations manager for a national solid waste company, with over 30 years of extensive hands-on experience in the landfill gas industry.
In his prior position as regional LFG manager, Mr. Getting was responsible for landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) daily operations, and regulatory compliance, through direct oversight and support of gas field technicians and energy plant operators at multiple landfill sites throughout the Southeastern U.S. He was also responsible for capital budget planning for GCCS expansion and remediation, and for direction and management of
internal and external (consultant/contractor) company resources to implement annual capital expansion and ongoing maintenance of GCCS projects. Prior to this position, Mr. Getting served as director of engineering for a regional LFG consulting firm, where he provided direction, supervision and performance of design, permitting, and construction activities for time critical and complex LFG projects including the development and management of project scopes, costs and schedules.

Mr. Getting earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida, Georgia, and Illinois.
