The Italian language school Terramare in Tuscany offers personalized courses for language students interested in studying abroad. Orbetello is in the Maremma region of Tuscany. It is situated in the centre of a splendid lagoon linked to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here the sea and the land meet, and intermingling, separate and come together again, painting a unique panorama, formed by the spectacular interweaving of natural habitats and landscape.
Close by, some just a short bike ride away,
are the ecological havens like Maremma Natural Park, the wetlands of WWF Bird sanctuaries, the Argentario promontory and the two strips of accumulated sand known by the Tuscan name of "tomboli", called Feniglia and Giannella that enclose the Orbetello Lagoon, and open out onto the sea, with their beautiful long sandy beaches.
The Italian language school Terramare was founded in 1986 and offers a variety of Italian language and combined language/activity courses for international language students from all over the world. With the University for Foreigners of Siena, the school offers also courses which can be accumulated for university credits for students from universities all over the world.
For over 20 years Terramare has accompanied students on their journey of discovery of, not just the Italian language, but also of this unique, natural and historic region.
It is run by a co-operative of highly qualified teachers with many years experience of teaching Italian as a foreign language. Over the years, they have built up their know-how in intercultural communication, including the design of courses aimed at the linguistic and cultural integration of foreign students in state schools.
Terramare offers a unique opportunity for those who want to learn a language, and also want practice using in active everyday situations. The courses guarantee full immersion in Italian culture and nature in small classes of no more than 2-6 students.
The school offers a wide variety of courses: small group courses, combined courses and individual lessons, but also some very special courses as listed below:
