2008-08-18 14:23:46 - Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added a new report which finds that Global 2000 firms are increasingly looking to provide greater IT support capabilities to their global mobile workforces.

The report which is titled ‘Global 2000 companies are looking to provide greater Mobility Support to their employees; managed services vendors that can support this trend will see increased traction in this mobility support vertical' , is available at www.reportbuyer.com/go/IEM00540.

The report states that the primary driver behind this trend is the growing demand from employees of

Global 2000 companies for consistent IT desk support. Authors of the report reiterate that managed services vendors should exploit this opportunity and support this trend to see the benefits of increased traction in this vertical. They also provide strategy recommendations for vendors of managed services that can provide mobility support to Global 2000 enterprises.

Analysts in the industry say that while there is no single provider of end-to-end managed services for mobility support, outsourcing elements of mobility support at Global 2000 companies can free up a significant amount of time and resources at large enterprises.

They also find that that over 35% of the 500 CIOs and IT Heads at Global 2000 companies who responded would consider managed services as part of their toolbox to provide mobility support.

The study includes the following data:

• 67% of the 500 respondents to the survey said that the IT and networking planning group in their company is facing increasing pressure from executive management to support mobile devices (including cellphones and laptops) used by company employees.
• 55% of respondents said that they were looking to implement solutions to track and analyse patterns of international mobile voice and data-roaming usage.

• 55% of Global 2000 companies say they support 3G cellular mobility services. Another 20% of Global 2000 companies say they will likely be supporting 3G mobility services in the next two years.

The report, ‘Global 2000 companies are looking to provide greater Mobility Support to their employees; managed services vendors that can support this trend will see increased traction in this mobility support vertical' is available from Report Buyer.
