2013-03-20 09:27:22 - Atikom Terbsiri, President, IRPC Public Co., Ltd., joined a press conference to announce the launch of IRPC Process License: From Licensee to Licensor. The innovative research development by the IRPC research team concerns technology transfer of Process License of Green ABS to companies interested in the “Green Technology Concept”. It is the first PTT group company to do this with a view to increasing competitiveness and generating revenue for the company from opening another channel instead of selling the product in its original form.

IRPC emphasizes its status as a leader in ASEAN’s Petrochemical Industry by adding business line to become a licensor thanks to its launching of “Green ABS” process license for the first time in PTT Group. Three to five more new technologies will be subsequently launched in the near future. This will help IRPC to further develop its research and development. It will also be a driving force for IRPC to become a knowledge organization while simultaneously strengthening Thai business operators with Thai technology.
Yesterday (26 February 2013), there was a press conference for the launch of IRPC “Process License” for Green ABS which is the technology to manufacture plastic resins from natural rubber under the concept of Green Technology

of IRPC, a fully integrated oil refining and petrochemical producer in Thailand.
Mr. Atikom Terbsiri, President of IRPC Public Company Limited, said that the launch of process license project will help confirm the readiness of the company to become the licensor in addition to manufacturing and distributing products to its customers. It will be a new business channel for the company and it is also in line with PTT Group’s strategy to develop oil refining and petrochemical industry.
IRPC has continuously placed great emphasis on the research and development in product, manufacturing and services with the cooperation from government and private sectors in order to introduce new products and manufacturing process to fully meet customers’ requirements. At the same time, IRPC is committed to developing environmentally friendly and socially responsible manufacturing process which will not only help increase its competitiveness and generate revenues but also set an example for Thai business operators to launch their own technologies and transfer their technologies to others in order to drive Thai petrochemical industry to achieve growth and sustainability.

Moreover, this technology is widely accepted as environmentally friendly manufacturing technology. Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, President and CEO of PTT Public Company Limited, added that this project is one of IRPC’s great achievements in becoming the first company in PTT Group which is capable of operating research and development until it is ready to transfer the technology to other business operators to implement it in their manufacturing processes.
The achievement will emphasize IRPC status as a leader in ASEAN’s Oil Refining and Petrochemical Industry. Research and development plays an important role in creating differences in serving customers’ needs. It also helps create competitiveness for the organization under the policy to develop petrochemical and petroleum industries to sustainably grow with an aim to not only generate revenues and boost the economy but also be social responsible and environmentally friendly.
“We’ve continuously focused on supporting research and development team to develop new technologies and products to meet the needs of customers. We have to admit that it’s a very difficult task and it also takes a lot of time. The more challenging factor, however, is how to implement the new technology and transfer the knowledge to others. IRPC has managed to overcome this obstacle by introducing its own process license and it is now ready to transfer the knowledge to other business operators as a licensor.
