2013-03-16 07:06:49 - Independent filmmakers are seeking the help from the public in order to secure funds for its independent film, “Marrow”.
New Paltz, NY (March 15, 2013) Independent filmmakers of the Hudson Valley Filmmakers Meetup Group (HVFMG) in New York ( www.meetup.com/HudsonValleyFMG/) are seeking the help of the public in order to secure funds for the community-based independent short film, “Marrow”.
“Marrow” is a short independent film written and directed by Tim Mattson with the collaboration of the Hudson Valley Filmmakers Meetup Group. To help make their independent short film “Marrow” a reality, the team at HVFMG recently launched crowd-funding efforts through Indiegogo, an international crowd-funding site for filmmakers, musicians, artists and more to help making their dreams become a reality.
The independent filmmakers of the HVFMG are hoping to raise $6,000 by April 1, 2013 where supporters can contribute anywhere
from $5 to $6,000 on Indiegogo.com. Anyone making a contribution becomes eligible to receive items, including signed posters, T-shirts, producer credit in the film, DVD copies of the movie upon completion, props from the film – even a role in the film itself!
“This is a very ambitious project for myself and for the members of the Hudson Valley Filmmakers Meetup Group,” says director Tim Mattson. “We are hoping to accomplish a well-made short independent film that taps into the minds and hearts of the human psyche. It is also our hope that, because of our limited funds, other filmmakers and fans alike of film in general will reach out to us with a small donation – anything helps, no matter how little or big. Help by spreading the word!”
“Marrow” is a short post-apocalyptic morality tale with a powerful look at "what could happen" if society collapses. Taking a place in a world no longer recognizable to those who survived a catastrophic event, protagonist, and heroine, Lindsay must fend for herself and her younger siblings. As food supplies dwindle, she is forced to go out into a dangerous and unknown world in order to acquire basic necessities for their survival. This is a tale that pushes its characters beyond their boundaries.
