SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/28/09 -- HomeStreet Bank's Mountlake Terrace branch has contributed $1,000 to the Housing and Transitional Services program of Volunteers of America, Western Washington chapter. The contribution was made at the second annual Communities of Promise Breakfast, held at the Everett Events Center on May 27.
"The primary focus of HomeStreet's community involvement is housing -- that is, partnering with organizations in a variety of ways to help meet the housing needs in our communities," said Marilla Sargent, manager of HomeStreet's Mountlake Terrace bank branch. "Volunteers of America's Housing and Transitional Services program addresses this critical need by recognizing that safe and secure shelter is one of the first steps on the path to self-sufficiency. We are proud to support this program."
