2013-09-26 06:54:30 - Solidarity Trade Union offers employees help with Settlement Agreements
SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT: NEED UNION HELP?
The Government recently introduced Settlement Agreements to allow employers and employees to agree a leaving package. This will usually involve a pay-off to an employee in return for leaving the company. The Government hope that this will avoid expensive and traumatic legal action by either party.
Either the employer or employee can initiate a discussion or simply make an offer but no-one is forced to ultimately agree. If however an employee is approached by their employer or wishes to find a way out themselves it might be worth exploring? Although an employee might decide to handle negotiations themselves professional help with such a complicated and serious process will benefit most.
Solidarity trade union can help with
advise or representation at such a meeting and negotiation.
If you are not already part of the union Solidarity runs a special service for non-members. If an employee needs help with a Settlement Agreement and joins Solidarity they will can get quality advice but also, for the payment of a modest fee, physical representation too (see www.solidaritytradeunion.org/news-mainmenu-52/589-need-trade-uni ..
