A New Zealand man attacked a teenager with the most unlikely of weapons - a hedgehog. William Singalargh faced charges of 'assault with a weapon' after he lobbed the prickly woodland creature at a 15-year old boy. The charge was later dropped in favour of common assault and offensive behaviour, for which Singalargh was fined £215, most of which he had to pay to his victim. The unnamed 15-year-old suffered a large red welt and several puncture marks when the hedgehog hit him, but did not require medical attention. It is not known whether the hedgehog was alive at the time of the attack, but it was dead when collected for evidence.
