Hawaiian Telcom Employees Donate $130,000 to United Way Organizations
All Funds Raised by Employees
HONOLULU (Thursday, January 31, 2013) -- Hawaiian Telcom employees raised
$130,000 to support United Way services throughout the state. Fundraising
efforts began in September and concluded at the end of 2012.
Checks were recently presented to Aloha United Way, Hawaii Island United Way,
Maui United Way and Kauai United Way.
"Hawaiian Telcom and its employees have been incredible supporters of Aloha
United Way and our community for more than 10 years,"
said Kim Gennaula,
President and Chief Professional Officer of Aloha United Way. "They are an
excellent example of a company with a true compassion for the needs of its
communities. We are grateful for their continued support and partnership. The
money they've raised will go a long way toward providing help and hope to a lot
of local families."
In addition to individual pledges, Hawaiian Telcom employees on Oahu voluntarily
organized and participated in team challenges that included accepting employee
donations for IT support from a Technology "Genius Bar," and a Dunk Tank
offering employees the chance to dunk numerous Hawaiian Telcom executives and
managers in exchange for donations to United Way.

supporting the communities in which we live and work," said Hawaiian Telcom CEO
Eric Yeaman. "Their efforts were nothing short of outstanding."
Hawaiian Telcom has about 1,400 employees statewide.
