A married couple we're shocked to find they had officially been divorced for ten years. Meena and husband Virender Verma, from Northern India, went to file a case against Virender's family for violence only to be told by a Haryana state court they had been divorced ten years previously. Fearing that Meena, a mother of two, would file a case against her husband's family, her brother in-law forged divorce papers. Husband Virender said: "'It seems the divorce was doctored to defeat Meena's possible complaint." The couple have since filed a separate case against Virender's brother, Surinder Verma, and four associates, of forgery. Surinder has denied the accusations.
