Actress DARYL HANNAH is appalled by celebrities who turn their backs on the simple things in life and move into massive mansions - because they're living beyond their needs.
The KILL BILL star, a fervent environmentalist, left the Hollywood scene years ago because she hated attending parties at huge energy-consuming estates.
She now lives simply in a stone cabin in Colorado.
And Hannah urges Tinseltown's energy-conscious stars to follow her example and scale back and move into smaller homes.
The movie star, who also drives a car that runs on recycled grease from local restaurants, says, "My house is very tiny. It's a one-room house, actually. I added a little bathroom and closet on because there wasn't one.
"There is no need to have a billion-square-foot house to live in. People very often think that big is better. I just don't agree.
"First of all, you wind up rattling around in houses that are not homey."
