Cologne (Germany), November 9th 2012 – mobivention’s Hangman Hero, the hangman classic, takes up top positions in the Apple App Store. Since the release of the app a few weeks ago it has delighted tens of thousands of active users.

“We are pleased about the success Hangman Hero has achieved, especially in Germany”, says Dr. Hubert Weid, CEO of mobivention. “Of course we hope to expand our success to other countries as well. We will add new functions and improvements to the game in any case.” The success of the app is limited to Europe so far but the number of downloads increased rapidly. Hangman Hero is positioned 1st in Germany in the categories ‘Word Games’ and 2nd in ‘Family Games’.

In ‘Games’ it ranks 5th and ‘Free Apps’ 9th.

The graphics of the game remind of the old paper and pen game. It is a digital version of the original game before smart phones and tablet PCs existed. The goal of the game is to find as many given words as possible before poor Hero loses his life on the gallows. The quicker this happens the higher the score. Hangman Hero comes with several word packages; each contains 150 words from all kind of topics. The scored points can be saved and shared through the Apple Game Center and Facebook integration. Funny animations and sound effects help users to find their way through this macabre adventure.
