TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/09 -- Guardian Capital Group Limited (TSX: GCG)(TSX: GCG.A) ("Guardian") today announced the following changes to its Board of Directors:

--  the resignation of Dr. F.D. "Derm" Barrett as a member of the Board; and

--  the appointment of Mr. Barry J. Myers, FCA, as a member of the Board and
    a member of the Audit Committee.

In announcing the changes, Mr. John Christodoulou, Chairman, expressed the appreciation of the Board for Mr. Barrett's long and exemplary service to the Company.



Mr. Barry Myers, a Senior Advisor with Borden Ladner Gervais, was a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) from 1982 to 2008. Throughout his time as Partner, Mr. Myers held various leadership positions, including as Canadian financial services and investment management industry practice leader.
