The title of Greg London’s ( www.gregorylondon.com :
) latest hit single “Cool Change” coincides perfectly with the master musical impressionist’s plans to take a brief break from his regular digs at Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno for a weeklong engagement at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe August 5-9.
With its dazzling array of impressions of musical superstars and entertainment legends, London’s show “ICONMAN” is the perfect show for The South Shore Room, which is celebrating its 50 th Anniversary this year.
Many of the icons he pays homage to have performed in the famed venue over the years, including everyone from Louis Armstrong to Kermit the Frog (who performed there with The Muppets)! The incredible matching list includes: Willie Nelson, Sammy Davis, Jr.,
Ray Charles, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, Julio Iglesias, Dean Martin and Barry Manilow and more.
The singer is enjoying an incredible June. He was voted the “Best Entertainer In Nevada” in Nevada Magazine’s 2009 Best Of Nevada Readers Survey, while “ICONMAN,” one of the longest running shows ever in Sammy’s Showroom, was voted “Best Show In Northern Nevada” in the same poll, which will be officially announced in the publication’s upcoming July/August issue. "To be singled out for these coveted awards by such a prestigious and historic publication as Nevada Magazine is a great honor indeed," London said.
On June 16, in a spot related to this exciting designation, London appeared on Las Vegas’ Fox 5 TV and sang “Everything I Own,” which earlier this spring hit the Top 5 on FMQB’s AC40 Chart and was declared the highest charting new artist single and independent label release of 2009. The track also reached #26 on the Radio & Records (R&R) AC chart and #25 on the Mediabase chart.
This week, his cover of Little River Band’s “Cool Change” was the #1 most added track on FMQB’s AC40 chart and was one of the most added on Radio & Records AC chart and the Mediabase AC chart.
The track was produced by David Zeman, Musical Director of ICONMAN.
