www.gtlaw.com - The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced that Carlos A. Souffront has joined its Miami office as Of Counsel in the litigation practice group. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Souffront was a partner with Tew Cardenas LLP. He reunites with former colleagues shareholder Francisco J. Cerezo, of counsel Carlos J. Abarca and associate Rosana
M. Gutierrez of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group, who all joined Greenberg Traurig from Tew Cardenas in January.
Souffront concentrates his practice in the areas of international commercial litigation, international commercial arbitration, and the prosecution and recovery of assets in financial fraud cases. He is experienced in a wide variety of matters and has represented a broad range of clients, such as venture capital investors, financial institutions, utility companies, manufacturers and numerous other providers of goods and services. His representations include a Central American conglomerate in a shareholder dispute that was litigated in Florida, Panama, Canada, Bermuda, Venezuela, Spain, British Virgin Islands and Guatemala. Souffront received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and his B.A. from Brandeis University.
"Carlos has represented national and international corporations in complex cases that have required counsel coordination in multiple jurisdictions and knowledge of the legal, regulatory and cultural systems of those jurisdictions," said Greenberg Traurig President, Matt Gorson. "These skills are especially valuable in an increasingly global environment, where we must bridge the legal and regulatory gap of multinational transactions. Carlos provides additional depth to our already experienced team."
With more than 500 trial lawyers, Greenberg Traurig appears regularly in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as in appellate courts and before international arbitration panels.
