- Green Star Products, Inc., (OTC: GSPI) announced today that it has completed its installation of the Odessa Biodiesel Plant.

Green Star has also recently received the contract to complete the installation of the Odessa tank farm and associated piping.

The Odessa Project includes a 28,000 sq. ft. renovated flat house with 600,000 bushel capacity silos and land with a 14-car railroad spur.

The Project also includes a crushing and degumming plant, which is to be finished by late summer. The crushing equipment, including oil presses, extruders and expellers, has been purchased and delivered to the site.

The initial production capacity will be 8,000,000 gallons of biodiesel per year. However, Green Star Products has already incorporated

some of the equipment and engineering into the facility necessary to double capacity to 16,000,000 gallons a year.

GSPI has a 15.8% equity interest in the Development & Operating Company along with two local Farmer Co-ops and Grain Processors.

Recently, U.S. Senator from Washington State, Maria Cantwell (Cantwell.Senate.gov) visited the facility. Pictures of the Senator's visit and the biodiesel facility are available at GreenStarUSA.com along with the local newspaper article. During this visit, she was quoted as saying, "I got your message about Federal funding loud and clear," agreeing to look into how such funds might be obtained. According to her website, "Maria Cantwell is working with her colleagues on both sides of the aisle to increase America's energy independence; level the playing field for new renewable and energy efficient technologies boost our domestic biofuels industry...and increase the availability of biofuel pumps."(1)

When completed, the Odessa facility will be a totally integrated biodiesel processing facility. It will incorporate its own oil seed crushing and dry-processing equipment that can take locally grown oil seeds (such as canola) and produce high-protein, hexane-free feed meal and biodiesel fuel. It will be the first facility of its kind in the Western U.S. that won't need to rely on volatile agricultural oil prices for its profitable operations. The Green Star design establishes a new standard for biodiesel production with extremely low energy consumption and continuous-flow process.

The City of Odessa and the surrounding communities in Central and Eastern Washington will benefit greatly from becoming a more sustainable society, less dependant on foreign oil, while building demand for locally grown crops to develop an entirely new industry.
