Chicago, IL (April 22, 2014) – Do the greater thing. Rebuild a community. On Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Washington, IL, the Green Ribbon Foundation is organizing volunteers to build a tree nursery for the victims of the Washington, IL Tornado that took place in November of 2013. Green Ribbon Foundation will be planting 1,000 trees to assist in Washington, IL ‘s healing and growth efforts. Green Ribbon Foundation supports Washington Lives Strong campaign, a city dedicated to rebuilding stronger. The Green Ribbon Foundation is a non-profit organization that is a catalyst for change, inspiring business and communities to think and act sustainably.

As the community rebuilds its homes, and the ground is cleared of rubble,

Green Ribbon Foundation is building the Washington Lives Strong nursery, which will be open for people to pick up a tree to plant on their land. The Green Ribbon Foundation has also set up a donation site ( for those that would like to sponsor trees for the nursery and help Washington, IL restore its community. Because of the efforts demonstrated by the Green Ribbon Foundation, the families effected by the tornado disaster will once again be able to enjoy the natural beauty of trees and continue the healing and growth process.
