2014-01-10 22:23:03 - Green River Community College Small Business Assistance Center will host a two-hour workshop, “Lease or Buy Commercial Real Estate” on Friday January 17, 2014 from 9 to 11am at the Kent Campus.
The objective of the workshop is to share insight as to the financial benefits, space benefits and other issues to be expected when leasing versus buying commercial real estate property.
Hosting the workshop are Chad Gleason, CCIM and Dana Beckley, partners at Raven Commercial Real Estate, a Kent-based commercial real estate firm that specializes in brokerage, development, investment and property management services.
Chad Gleason, CCIM, is a commercial real estate and investment broker with Raven Commercial Real Estate specializing in landlord representation, tenant representation, investment analysis, purchase and sales. Previously, Chad was responsible for state and national level tenant representation leasing programs and new construction/development at Retail Realty Services. Chad is former president of the Kent Downtown Partnership, is Treasurer of
the Washington State Chapter of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member).
Dana Beckley, partner at Raven Commercial Real Estate was formerly CFO and partner at Urban Visions, a progressive, privately held real estate development and brokerage company in Seattle, Washington. As chief financial officer, overseeing Urban Visions’ internal finance, risk management and legal functions, Dana also handled negotiations, entity structuring, debt/equity capital deals, and project tax planning strategies for all transactions. Cumulatively over his career, Dana has been involved in more that $1 billion in transactions, as well as numerous high-profile lease transactions. Most recently, in his role at Urban Visions, he helped negotiate significant leases with such tenants as the Hard Rock Café, WSDOT, and Starbucks Corporation. Previously Dana held finance manager positions at Martin Smith Inc. and Vysiz Development Company.
Chad and Dana will be joined by local representatives who will discuss financing terms actively offered through banks and SBA sponsored loan programs for business owners.
The workshop is scheduled for 9 to 11am on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Green River Community College – Kent Campus, 417 Ramsay Way, Suite 112.
This is a first come, first served workshop for small businesses and registration is required.

About Green River Community College Small Business Center (SBAC)
The Green River Community College Small Business Center (SBAC) provides technical assistance to small businesses in South King County and North Pierce County areas. The SBAC offers assessment, referral services and business counseling at no charge as well as hands-on training to small business owners and managers.
