With the announcement that postal regulators are going to assess additional postage to any company who is not compliant with the Move Update regulations, GrayHair Software, the direct mail industry’s leader in mail tracking and address quality services is proud to announce the release of Address Score™. This service can check the quality of the addresses, provide valuable feedback and, most importantly, identify problems before mailers are assessed additional postage charges.
“Just as a consumer cares about their credit score, GrayHair’s Address Score service will allow mailers to check their own move update compliance. It can provide the postal manager or anyone involved in a company’s mailing with insight and possible direction on where to find the potential problem in their
enterprise postal move update process,” says Raymond T. Chin, GrayHair Software’s Vice President of Product Development and Management. “Currently, the USPS assessments are $0.07 per mail piece against the failing portion of the mailing and can trigger an audit of all your mailing activities. For sizeable mailings, that could bring thousands of dollars in additional postage. The use of this service to check the quality of the addresses can provide valuable feedback and potentially save a corporation those assessments if the problems are caught early.”
Brought to you by the addressing experts at GrayHair Software, Address Score provides a quick glimpse of key indicators of the address quality on a mailing list. The score card that the client receives provides a raw score, a graded scale, and numerical scoring. It highlights and attempts to identify the risk of the potential USPS Performance-Based Verification Failure and assessment of additional postal charges.
The Address Score card will also provide mailers with an Executive Summary with scores from CASS™, NCOA (National Change of Address), Move Update and GrayHair proprietary Move Update database along with a Final Score. A simple-to-read executive narrative provides an overview of the raw scores and highlights normal score ranges for comparison. The report includes detailed scores and percentages on key sub-elements such as Delivery Point Validation (DPV®), LACS Link® , Suite Link along with ACS (Address Correction Services) COA (Change of Address) and Nixie statistics. The details highlight move update records from the NCOA Link® service that were not updated within the 95 days period which is cause for alarm.
“GrayHair offers access to one of the largest proprietary ACS databases so that Address Score users will know, and can measure, their risk areas,” said Cameron Bellamy, President and CEO of GrayHair Software.
“Address Score was created to relieve mailers of the stress that the current Move Update regulations and recent Move Update mailer advisement policy have placed on them.”
The entire process for Address Score is a passive system that will not impact mailers production or mail time windows. Additional analysis can be performed through auxiliary services on the Intelligent Mail® Barcode to map mail movement through OneCode Confirm® and other mail reporting.
