The latest restaurant from Mom Tri Devakul, Mom Tri's Boathouse Regatta at Royal Phuket Marina celebrated its grand opening on 21 February, becoming the fifth of a successful Phuket restaurant group that guarantees every meal to be a culinary delight.
While Mom Tri's well-known award-winning restaurants, the Boathouse, Mom Tri's Kitchen, Oasis Spring Tapas Bar and Oasis On The Sea Restaurant are located in the south of Phuket, the stylish Royal Phuket Marina was chosen to house Mom Tri's Boathouse Regatta.
As part of the opening celebration, over 200 people attended the lively cocktail party. Guests of honour Khun Chatri Sophonpanich, Honorary Chairman of the Bangkok Bank and H.E. French Ambassador Laurent Bili cut the ribbon after an eloquent speech by Mom Tri Devakul.
Following the ceremony was the inauguration of the 8th annual Boathouse Festival de la Gastronomie Française', held at the Boathouse Regatta until 08 March. Maître Cuisinier de France Jean-Noël Lumineau treated dinner guests to delicacies such
as home-made duck foie gras, sea-scallops fricassee with Thai mushrooms, roasted rack of lamb with thyme and cacao cream shortbread with mocha ice cream.
'We are thrilled to open a new restaurant,' said Louis Bronner, General Manager of the Boathouse. 'We chose the Royal Phuket Marina because of its close proximity to tourists, families and business professionals in Phuket town which is less than 15 minutes away. We are now also closer to tourists staying at hotels in the north of Phuket Island who desire delicious fresh food and good wines, paired with great friendly service that they'll enjoy.'
Customers can choose from a variety of dishes, many of which are the favourites of regular Boathouse guests. Chef Jean-Noël Lumineau and Chef Somboon Laosuwan have added some original dishes to the menu, inspired by the marina surroundings. According to Chef Somboon popular dishes are Boathouse Ravioli, served with a creamy morel mushroom sauce, and chicken breast stuffed with spinach with rosemary grain mustard sauce. Another favourite is roasted Angus beef tenderloin salad which is flavoured with fresh herbs, spicy crushed garlic and chilli lime dressing. 'It's a kind of unique mix of spice and lime,' said Chef Somboon.
The Regatta also comprises an open-air bar offering a variety of new signature Regatta drinks and an extensive wine cellar with over 200 labels rivalling the best in Phuket.
Finding a parking place, which can be a headache in Phuket at times, is no problem at Royal Phuket Marina which boasts an extensive underground parking garage besides ample above-ground parking.
The business community's needs are served with free WiFi access.
Normal business hours are from 11:00 to 23:00 hrs. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
Major credit cards are accepted.
