The Governor of New Hampshire, Margaret Wood Hassan, has issued a Proclamation
to bring attention to the condition known as Sleep Apnea, and to Helen Bousquet.
Bousquet lived in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. She was born in Ipswich,
Massachusetts.

Bousquet passed away on October 5th after a routine knee surgery, when she was
left alone in a hospital room recovery room at The Holy Family Hospital, owned
by Steward Health Care System.

Evans has set up a website for his mother at www.helenbousquet.com

"I am glad that unlike Steward Health Care System and our own Massachusetts
Governor, that the Governor of New Hampshire takes sleep apnea very seriously
and cares about its citizens lives enough to actually talk to someone making a
complaint," says Evans. "The Governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick,
wouldn't even meet with me about the subject of my mother and what happened to her. He wouldn't even take the call or agree to one." Governor Patrick just weeks later appointed a Steward Health Care System executive, John Polanowicz, as the DPH Health Secretary. Polanowicz has never responded to Evans attempts to contact him. Evans complained that the Attorney General of Massachusetts wasn't taking his mother's death seriously, refusing his request for an investigation into negligent homicide allegations given all they knew about her pre-existing conditions prior to her entrance to the hospital. Attorney General Martha Coakley wouldn't even take a meeting with her son, and refused to investigate any of his claims. In 2009, Coakley had a fundraiser held for her by Steward Health Care CEO Ralph De La Torre, who owns The Holy Family Hospital. "We didn't expect her to do much when the guy has given her money in the past," says Evans. "All she has done is ignore me, more interested in fining Burger King. This is my mother this happened to. Do all of you really think I'm going to let this go? I don't think so. We didn't elect you to do nothing. It's your job to protect people like my mother, not to get cozy with the people who profit from her treatment." Evans said John Verner contacted him from the attorney general's office, told Evans he'd contact him in "a week," but never did. "If they ignore me, they are all under the illusion that I will go away. I will not," says Evans. "Ever." Helen Bousquet, who had sleep apnea, a heart condition, was throwing up the day she went into cardiac arrest, was in need of further oxygen just hours before, was over fifty pounds overweight due to her knee, and was given morphine, was left in an unmonitored recovery room at The Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts. She had also been gagging in the room. The Massachusetts DPH then claimed that was all within the "standard of care". The DPH did not interview a single witness who visited Bousquet in her recovery room, or the ICU, instead taking only the word of the doctors and nurses, whom Evans claims, told him and family members something completely opposite. "They opened the investigation, and closed it, in what is likely one of the biggest shams of an investigation we've all seen the likes of. All of these people are in bed together. Be very afraid, once you walk through the doors of a hospital, no matter what goes on in there.it's a civil matter. Not with my mother, it isn't. She was more than a filing fee." Evans claims the "triggermen" are Steward Health Care System, The Holy Family Hospital, and doctors who cared for her. Evans requested the Governor of Massachusetts issue a proclamation to bring attention to sleep apnea. Governor Patrick refused to issue anything that would bring attention to the condition. "I'm the messenger. That's all I am. It's my mother who went through this event that will save others, not me," says Evans. "I refuse to allow what were to be the best years of her life to be lost for nothing. I'm not a bereaved son looking for someone to blame, in this situation, there is someone to blame." Evans says he intends to sue "Everyone. However my mother will not be minimized to merely civil litigation. The years she gave up will save other's lives, and that's the only thing worth dying for. She was the type of person that would have chosen to do so. She put up with too much hell from me growing up to go out this way. I won't allow that to happen. No son should. I hate myself for letting her walk into that place." Evans says he intends on writing a book about what happened to his mother. "Standard of Care: How Steward Health Care System changed my life...and ended my mothers." Cerberus Capital Management, who owns Steward Health Care System, also owns the gun manufacturer who made the gun used in the Newtown shootings used to kill twenty children last year. "They make the guns, then treat the wounds and our Massachusetts Governor and AG just stamp the paperwork that gives them the right to dominate the Massachusetts health care system. The check is in the mail for your next campaign." Evans also is taking aim at LeapFrog Group, who rates the hospital. The rating is given based on answers to questionnaires that the hospital answers. LeapFrog, itself, doesn't actually go into the hospital. They gave Holy Family Hospital an "A" rating after Evans went public with a letter LeapFrog wrote that seemed to support his efforts against the hospital, but just nine days after giving Holy Family Hospital that "A" rating, nurses protested the hospital for lack of staffing. "It's the best rating money can buy, in my opinion," he says.  "They are only concerned with what things cost them, and they never admit when their wrong. Deny, deny, deny." "They never asked my mother if she wanted a thing (a CPAP). What hospital do you know of that would "The DPH, Governor of Massachusetts, and the AG have been completely worthless, and it's all surrounded by Steward Health Care System, the puppet-masters. This is my mother, so I don't care what you think about what I'm doing. She didn't have to die, and I take that seriously, a lot more serious than hurting someone's ego. What happened to my mother will not be swept under the rug. That is not going to happen." "In my opinion, companies like this attack the attacker. I can see by the IP addresses in the management section of my mother's website that Steward Health Care System and their lawyers are scouring her website every day. If they spent as much time caring for her as they do now monitoring her memorial website, she wouldn't be a memory. They are all vultures." "The Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts, in my opinion, is a very, very dangerous hospital, as is Steward Health Care System, who has been given carte blanche over the health care system in Massachusetts. Deny is the only word they know, and I challenge anyone to research the last time you've ever heard the word "Admit" come out of their mouths. If every son or daughter responded to this the way I have, hospitals would be run very differently. They don't give a damn. It's all about money. With the exception of NECN's story about my mother (see: www.necn.com/11/13/12/Mass-man-seeks-answers-after- mothers-dea/landing.html?blockID=801583&feedID=11106), no other media would touch this story. In my opinion, the hospital likely spends too much money on advertising with the media outlets, be it a newspaper or TV, for them to rock the boat. NECN was the bravest network in Boston." "The public has zero faith in the Massachusetts Department of Health, and now I know why first hand," he says. "They are nothing but advocates for the hospitals interests, not justice. Chris Duerr's investigation on their behalf was completely bogus. She actually told one person, "Why didn't she put her own CPAP (a sleep apnea machine) on herself?" "How about.she was dosed out on morphine, you moron." Nurses told Evans and family members in the ICU that they don't normally given out CPAP's until 9:00 PM, when patients go to sleep. A CPAP is used for sleep apnea patients. "Can someone please tell me what bedtime is when you have a morphine clicker." The FBI has been in contact with Evans for months, and have advised Evans to continue sending them information that he has compiled. "It's been made clear to me that the FBI is investigating." "I'm not insinuating corruption. I'm accusing them of it," says Evans For more information visit www.helenbousquet.com, or call Andrew Biltz at (310) 404-9152.
