The Airtel Hyderabad Marathon to be held on August 25, 2013 is set to become the cleanest marathon in India thanks to the support from 4G Identity Solutions Pvt Ltd and Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni Foundation, both based in Hyderabad.
Waste Warriors, a voluntary organization with waste management projects in Dharamsala and Dehradun, have been announced as official waste management and charity partners for this year’s marathon. 4G Identity Solutions Pvt Ltd and Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni Foundation came forward to sponsor clean and green marathon in Hyderabad to support the efforts of Waste Warriors.

Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni Foundation is a not-for-profit organizationwith the vision of “Making a Difference to the Bottom Billion" is aimed at supporting education, health and environment to bring a change in the lives of marginalized and disadvantaged sections of society. The foundation is supported and funded by Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni, Chairman and CEO of 4G Identity SolutionsPvt Ltd.
The marathon is being organized by running group, Hyderabad Runners, in collaboration with Airtel. 6,000 runners are expected to participate in the marathon. The races will commence at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road and finish at G.M.C Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli.

Waste Warriors, a voluntary organization with a team of waste workers, have a wealth of experience in managing waste management for large-scale events. During the Indian Premier League in May 2013, Waste warriors managed the waste of 70,000 people at Dharamsala Cricket Stadium and were previously involved in waste management initiatives at Sunburn Music Festival and the Manimahesh Yatra.
Working methods at the marathon include waste segregation at source, maximizing on recycling to reduce the amount going to landfill and composting of food waste. Educating and raising awareness prior to the event will also be carried out with a major emphasis on keeping the route clean rather than just cleaning up afterwards.
