Actor Rupert Grint is confirmed to be filming new indie film "Cherry bomb" by award-winning screenwriter Daragh Caville.

Production began last week and new casting information has been released.

Film synopsis: A storyline that follows two best friends who are looking forward to a summer of fun when a beautiful but troubled girl makes them dangerously compete for her affections. The film follows teenagers Malachy (Rupert Grint), Luke (Robert Sheehan) and Michelle (Kimberley Nixon) as they embark on a wild weekend of drink, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars. But what starts out as a game turns deadly serious when the three discover that they can't get off the wild ride they've set in motion. (hopefully a naked Rupert at some point)

Daragh

Carville is multi-award winning playwright and screenwriter and has written critically praised novels.

The company distributing the film is also behind the new James McAvoy & Helen Mirren film 'The Last Station' about the final year of Russian Socialist writer Leo Tolstoy.

"CHERRY BOMB" is set for a US & UK release in 2009.
