As part of a global tour Standard Films lastest movie “2112” will be premiered at Mt Baldys Top of the Notch Restaurant on November 3rd 2012 at 8:00 PM.
Standard Films was started in 1991 and is a snowboard film company started by brothers Mike and Dave Hatchett. The company was started when one of the two brothers (as a professional snowboarder) was in a serious snowboarding accident in a particularly treacherous chute, breaking his femur. The injury caused him to lose 2" (5 cm) from his right leg and brought his professional snowboarding career to
an end. The brothers chose to make films to continue the professional snow sports lifestyle.
Standard Films are generally shot on 16 mm film. Due to the cumbersome nature of the filming equipment, this is uncommon amongst snowboarding films, which are not usually marketed for cinematic quality.
The films are well regarded for their long history and their emphasis on snowboarding, rather than on the peripheral snow-sports activities, and high quality filming and post-production.As of 2009 they have produced a snowboarding film every year. Standard Films showcases snowboarding's future with new riders, new spots, and next gen thinking. This full spectrum action film will force you to readjust your parameters for speed and spin as it carries you from the immense mountains of Alaska to the frozen streets of Scandinavia.
The latest movie “2112” stars Mathieu Crepel, Frederik Kalbermatten, Gulli Gudmundsson, Ethan Morgan, Xavier De Le Rue, Tim Humphreys, Nils Ardvisson, Kimmy Fasani, Victor De Le Rue, Chas Guldemond, and Anne-Flore Marxer.
Filmed on location in Iceland, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Washington, Red Mountain BCWhistler BC, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Mammoth Mountain, Haines Alaska makes this movie a visual treat not to be missed.
