NEW FREE-CHINATOWN FOOD AND SIGHTSEEING TOUR IN PHILADELPHIA

Tourists to Philadelphia have a new option to tour Chinatown for a price
everyone can afford - FREE. Free Tours by Foot is now offering free
walking tours of Chinatown . What’s the catch? Participants pay only for the foods they want to eat.   The guides work or tips, so participants also get to decide what the tour was worth! If visitors feel that the quality of their tour warrants a gratuity, they are encouraged to reward their guides as they see fit. If a visitor is not quite satisfied with the tour, he or she can

depart with the comfort that the tour didn’t cost him a thing.

Free Tours by Foot currently offers four walking tours in Philadelphia. Our newest tour is the Chinatown Food Tour which lasts
approximately two and half hours and covers about one mile in distance.
These tours are currently offered at 2:00 p.m. on every other Saturday.

The company also offers a two-hour tour, Freedom Rings in Philadelphia, a walking tour of the Historic District at 11 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Also offered is a four-hour, Real Philly, of the off-the-beaten track sights of Philadelphia east of Broad Street at 1 p.m. on Saturdays. All of tours leave outside the Independence Visitor Center at the corner of 6th and Market Streets.

Free Tours by Foot was founded in 2006 in Washington, D.C.
by three tour guides; each had recently traveled to Europe and
experienced free, tip-based walking tours in several cities. All three
were struck by the quality and enthusiasm the guides there had for
the cities and guests. And there was a reason – they worked for tips.

Five years later, the founders partnered with other like-minded guides
in New York and then last year they expanded to Philadelphia.
