2012-01-28 15:09:26 - With about 745 hotels to choose from in New York City alone, a new Android app is helping travelers search hotel availability and rates in NYC while comparing prices and offers from different websites.

The free app, NYCHotelNetworks, gives users a smart phone-optimized way to search on NYCHotelNetworks.com’s travel-oriented search engine. It has been well-received thus far, holding a five-star rating on the Android Market.

This specialized search engine can sort through thousands of results according to a wide variety of criteria, including popularity, price, user rating, hotel name, distance from arrival site, property type, and features.

The release of this app is closely timed with the successful launch of NYCHotelNetworks.com, which went live last month. According to company CEO Matthew Crawford, more than one thousand bookings were made on the first days of the website’s launch alone, and traffic has only increased from there. Crawford attributes the success of the app and search

engine to the value they provide travelers.

Each hotel search result page displays several photos, a detailed description of the property, a list of amenities, and ratings from confirmed guests, along with check-in and check-out times. A link to Google Maps also shows where the hotel is located within the city. Clicking the “Book Now” button takes the user to a page where they can decide which booking website to use, such as Hotels.com, Priceline, or Booking.com, among others. The transaction is then completed on that website.

Besides its comprehensive information on New York City hotels, NYCHotelNetworks.com also lets travelers browse hotel accommodations and price information for about 121,300 destinations in all fifty states, Washington D.C., and more than 200 foreign countries.
