Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is launching a major multi-media regional advertising campaign from 11th March 2013, focussing on the important catchment areas of Newcastle, Liverpool and Harwich, which are home to Fred. Olsen departure ports; notably, Liverpool’s Pier Head Cruise Terminal and Harwich International Port have been introduced as new turnaround ports for Fred. Olsen this year.

This regional campaign will reinforce Fred. Olsen’s key message of ‘Bringing the world closer to you’, by giving customers within these important markets increased access to a Fred. Olsen cruise from a port ‘on their doorstep’.

Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

the most convenient option for them to take a Fred. Olsen cruise; in fact, we are proud to say that, with the addition of our new turnaround ports of Liverpool and Harwich, 90% of the UK population are now within a 90-minute radius of a Fred. Olsen cruise, further enhancing our reputation as the UK’s ‘local global cruise line’.

“The consumer demand that this promotional activity will create – especially in the Merseyside area, where we are delighted to be returning with ten departures – will make it even easier for agents to sell a Fred. Olsen cruise, even if they have never sold our product before.”

To support the travel trade in promoting this campaign, Fred. Olsen's Sales team will be visiting agents in the Newcastle, Liverpool and Harwich areas and will be providing them with a variety of 'point of sale' materials to highlight the benefits of Fred. Olsen's regional UK cruise programme.

The new Fred. Olsen regional campaign utilises the quirky ‘daub’ style font that has become synonymous with the cruise line and underscores its personal and friendly style of cruising. The campaign will include posters in key sites in and around Newcastle, Liverpool and Harwich, promoting the great choice of cruises and destinations from these ports, as well as posters at bus stops in key locations and on the sides of local buses.

Fred. Olsen is offering its guests a choice of nine convenient UK-wide departure ports in 2013/14: Southampton, Dover, Portsmouth, Harwich, Liverpool, Newcastle, Greenock (for Glasgow), Rosyth (for Edinburgh) and Belfast.
