TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/14/12 -- Public sector innovators were celebrated at the IPAC/Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Awards. From various regions of Canada, this year's winners and finalists impressed the judges with their tenacious pursuit of better outcomes for Canadians.

"The winners demonstrated clear leadership, which really is about the courage to try new approaches, the initiative to see big projects through to conclusion, and the ability to collaborate to make the most of limited or existing resources," said Kathy Parker, Associate Partner with Deloitte.

The IPAC/Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Awards program recognizes organizations that have shown excellence in leadership within the public sector in Canada. The awards showcase projects and initiatives undertaken by organizations or agencies where leadership played a key role in making it possible for major organizational transformation and outstanding performance to occur.

"In today's environment, Canada's public sector understands the need for organizational transformations that go beyond traditional programs and services. Their ability and to deliver client-centered services is built upon their unbounded commitment to uphold the public trust. We are indeed fortunate to have such fantastic public servants, and today we are thrilled to be recognizing examples of such leadership within Canada's public service", declared Maria David-Evans, IPAC's National President.
