THE FLINTSTONE composer WILL H. SHAEFFER has died from cancer in a nursing home in Palm Springs, California at the age of 78.
Shaeffer is famous for his work on the hit animation as well as I Dream of Jeannie, The Jetsons, The Tonight Show and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
He also wrote more than 700 commercials and scooped a Pulitzer Prize for his concert piece The Sound Of America - for the U.S.' bicentennial celebration in 1976.
Schaeffer divorced his wife of 20 years in 1984 and leaves no children.
