Though many formerly investment grade U.S. RMBS have been downgraded to distressed levels, ultimately principal and interest recoveries can be substantial, according to Fitch Ratings.

Fitch analysts will discuss the process for assigning Recovery Ratings (RRs) to distressed RMBS bonds during a webcast to take place tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m ET.

The webcast, titled 'Low Ratings, High Recoveries' will include a

discussion of the key factors considered by Fitch in analyzing the recovery prospects for distressed RMBS, the value that this analysis can provide to investors, regulators and other market participants and what information can be gleaned from the over 21,000 U.S. RMBS RRs assigned and monitored by Fitch.

U.S. RMBS Group Head Huxley Somerville and Senior Director Grant Bailey will lead the call, which will be moderated by Kevin Duignan, Global Head of Corporate Communications. The panel is expected to last approximately 30 minutes, with a Q&A session immediately to follow.
