- Fitch Ratings has placed the following classes of Capital Auto Receivables Asset Trust (CARAT) 2007-SN1 and 2007-SNE on Rating Watch Negative:
Capital Auto Receivables Asset Trust 2007-SN1
--Class C rated 'A';
--Class D rated 'BBB'.
Capital Auto Receivables Asset Trust 2007-SNE
--Class A rated 'AAA'.
The classes listed above are fixed and floating
rate notes issued under two separate transactions which are supported by pools of retail vehicle leases originated by General Motors Acceptance Corp. (GMAC). The Rating Watch Negative assignments are the result of the unprecedented level of decline in the wholesale values of certain vehicle types and the resulting impact on residual value losses.
As Fitch indicated in its July 30, 2008 press release 'U.S. Auto Lease ABS Ratings Facing Stiff Headwinds', given these declines, Fitch is currently reviewing all outstanding rated auto lease transactions.
The classes listed above have been identified as particularly susceptible to increases in residual value loss assumptions, as currently available credit enhancement for each of the classes may not be sufficient to support reasonably higher stressed residual value losses at their current ratings.
Fitch has requested and begun to receive more detailed residual value information from GMAC and will utilize this information to refine its residual value loss assumptions for these and other outstanding GMAC auto lease transactions. Fitch expects to complete its review within the next 60 days.
