Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) is making a call to action to support World Cerebral Palsy Day. This global innovation day took place on 2nd October and brought together experts from around the world. The UK based solicitors, one of the leading medical negligence firms in the country, is speaking out in support of the awareness day, encouraging people to get involved and raise awareness of the critical effects of cerebral palsy and ‘change their world in one minute’.
The international affair doesn’t gain much support from the UK, so FFW have set out to change the way World Cerebral Palsy Day is celebrated, inspiring people to support the cause. World Cerebral Palsy Day, which is celebrated on a global level, aims
to improve the lives of those living with cerebral palsy and their supporting families. The campaign gives people the chance to provide innovative ideas in a one minute slot, to help improve the lives of people suffering with the condition.
The best ideas are then chosen by a panel of judges and inventors make dreams into a reality.
World Cerebral Palsy day not only unites experts in the field, but also gives people with cerebral palsy, their families and supporters, a chance to share ideas for change. The innovative scheme allows those submitting just 1 minute to present the idea – in a video or text – and post it on the World CP Day website. The ideas submission is open from mid-July to 31 October, Field Fisher Waterhouse are urging people to get involved and share ideas on the site, in hope of changing the world for people with cerebral palsy.
Edwina Rawson, a panel solicitor for a leading cerebral palsy charity, who has worked with individuals living with cerebral palsy and their families, had this to say.
“The importance of World Cerebral Palsy day cannot be stressed enough; the awareness day is doing outstanding work, not only through educating the general public on the illness, but also bringing together some of the most prolific researchers in the field, in the hope of one day finding a cure.
Field Fisher Waterhouse will continue to not only seek financial closure for those affected and their families, but also to help raise further awareness of this international day which we feel should be more heavily supported in the UK.”
