INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Fever overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to beat Detroit 82-70 on Sunday and deny Rick Mahorn his first win as the Shock's coach.
It was Mahorn's second game as head coach since Bill Laimbeer resigned.
Katie Douglas scored 23 points and Tamika Catchings had 15 points and six assists for the Fever (4-2), who won their fourth straight after losing their first two.
Deanna Nolan scored 16 points and Katie Smith added 15 for the Shock (1-4), who are off to their worst start since 2002.
Storm 93, Mercury 84
At Phoenix, Lauren Jackson scored 25 points, including a 3-pointer with 1:03 left, as Seattle ended Phoenix' three-game winning streak.
Swin Cash added 22 for Seattle, which tied Phoenix for the best record in the Western Conference at 5-2. Sue Bird had 21 points and nine assists for the Storm, who outrebounded the Mercury 37-22 and outscored them inside 42-26.
Diana Taurasi scored 25 points and Cappie Pondexter added 22 for the Mercury, who were looking to match the franchise's best start at 6-1 in 1998.
Liberty 93, Dream 81
At Atlanta, Shameka Christon scored 17 points and Janel McCarville had 15 to help New York pull away for a win over Atlanta.
The Liberty (2-3), who began the season with three straight losses, scored 29 points in the third quarter, including two 3-pointers by Christon and one by Cathrine Kraayeveld.
Atlanta had won two straight, but the Dream (3-3) never led after going ahead by four in the first quarter.
Chamique Holdsclaw led Atlanta with 17 points.
Sun 71, Silver Stars 58
At Uncasville, Connecticut, Asjha Jones had 19 points and six rebounds to help Connecticut beat San Antonio.
Sophia Young scored 22 points for San Antonio (1-3), which was without Becky Hammon, who was playing for Russia at a tournament in Latvia. The Silver Stars also were without Vickie Johnson due to a death in the family, and Shanna Crossley, who was injured.
Erin Phillips scored six of her 11 points in the fourth period for Connecticut (3-3) and rookie center Chante Black had 11 points and eight rebounds before leaving with a sprained elbow in the third quarter.
Sparks 67, Monarchs 47
At Los Angles, Tina Thompson scored 12 points and Vanessa Hayden added 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Los Angeles over Sacramento.
Betty Lennox and Marie Ferdinand-Harris had 10 points apiece for the Sparks (2-4), who broke a four-game losing streak. Lennox added eight rebounds.
The Sparks played without Lisa Leslie, who sprained her right knee and bruised her right hip Friday against Phoenix.
Nicole Powell scored 13 points for the Monarchs (1-5).
