Residents of middle class neighborhoods in North County St. Louis claim that nuclear waste was improperly disposed of near Coldwater Creek in the 1950’s and 1960’s leading to an unusually high incident rate of rare cancers and birth defects.

firms - Napoli, Bern, Ripka, Shkolnik, LLP and Bryon, Carlson, Petri & Kalb (“Coldwater Creek Litigation Team”) - pooling resources in order to continue to advance this complex litigation. It is an honor to be appointed “lead counsel” by Federal Judge Audrey G. Fleissig in the United States District Court – Eastern District of Missouri.

Appointment as Lead Counsel in the Coldwater Creek litigation allows TorHoerman Law to act on behalf of all those residents that seek to hold those companies responsible for mishandling the storage, handling and transportation of radioactive waste from the Manhattan project.

The Coldwater Creek litigation team currently has three lawsuits on file with 31 named plaintiffs. The number of plaintiffs are expected to increase as more lawsuits are filed. Several hundred more injured parties have signed up with the Coldwater Creek litigation team in hopes of holding the responsible parties legally accountable for their injuries.

In addition to legal advocates, there are thousands of resident advocates working hard to make sure those affected by the Coldwater Creek contamination are made aware of its hidden toxic secrets. There are currently over 5,800 active members of a Facebook page devoted to investigating the possibility of a cancer cluster around North St. Louis County's Coldwater Creek. This number continues to grow daily as residents that have moved away become aware of the contamination.
