/EINPresswire.com/ The family of Zachary Tran,a six-year-old Vernon Hills boy killed by a soccer goal, will host Zackapalooza, a benefit for the Zachary Tran Memorial Fund, on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.
The family of Zachary Tran will host Zackapalooza on Sept. 22 to benefit the Zachary Tran Memorial Fund, which the family started after Zack's tragic death in 2003. Zachary was just six years old when an unsecured goal fell on him during soccer practice in Vernon Hills, IL. His parents Jayson and Michelle Tran crusaded to change state law and started the Memorial Fund, which provides educational, athletic and artistic activities for children in their community whose opportunities are limited.
"ZacKapALooZa" will feature games for the entire family,
food, music, a silent auction and raffle. The event will be held from 6-10p.m. on Sept. 22, 2012 at the Vernon Hills Cougars Youth Athletic Association, 740 Corporate Woods Parkway in Vernon Hills. The event is for children of all ages and their families. Tickets are $40/Adult, $20/Child or $100/Family. To buy tickets to the event click here.
Music will be provided by Personalities, Inc. There will be dancing, games and food from Hitz, Culvers, Buffalo Wild Wings and Hel's Kitchen Catering. Raffle prizes include a chance to win an iPad & jewelry from Tiffany. We'll have a silent auction with other great stuff!
"We are so proud that in the last 8 years we have given $80,000 to more than 2100 kids," said Michelle Tran. "We want to continue to give back to our local community as well as children all across the world. We want Zack's spirit to live on," she added.

About the Tran Family and the Zachary Tran Memorial Fund
After their son's life was cut short, Jayson and Michelle Tran set out to improve the lives of other children. Their story is one of inspiration. For ten years after Zack's death, the Trans lobbied to change state law, and triumphed last year when the Illinois Soccer Goal Safety Act, known as "Zach's Law" was passed. Jayson and Michelle also founded Anchored for Safety, which provides safety information about moveable soccer goals; monitors and tracks deaths related to soccer goals; and tracks state-by-state legislation. They created the Zachary Tran Memorial Fund to help children in need in the Vernon Hills area.
