The second edition of the LatAm Rail Opportunities will throw light on the construction of railways across other Latin American countries. First hand experience will also be shared and reviewed at the summit. Representatives from the Ministry of Transport of Uruguay and Ecuador will discuss the current scenario in their respective countries. The summit will also cover rail infrastructure investment plans in Mexico and Paraguay by explaining the right equation for procuring the best rail technology at the right cost and quality.
Francisco Luiz Baptista da Costa, who is the Head of Transport Planning Department Secretariat & Deputy Secretary for National Transport Policy at Ministry of Transport in Brazil, will provide his inputs regarding new opportunities in rail infrastructure investment with the Logistics Investment Program. He will further describe the criteria for selecting projects for execution. Spanning over two days, this summit will include intense discussions on project updates and recommendations on the best strategies moving forward.
A panel discussion on regulating safety and other technical standards for effective railway infrastructure development in Latin America will be led by Francisco Carlos Caballero Colombo from CBTU (Brazilian Company of Urban Trains), Heloisa Menezes representing the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade – Brazil and Luis Antonio Nunes, Metro DF. The panelist will attend to the queries that fosters innovation and competitiveness, interoperability and technological development.
