Experienced Public-Private Partnership Leader Susanna Han Hired for Balfour Beatty Capital - Canada Initiative

Balfour Beatty Capital : today announced that Susanna Han has been hired to lead Balfour Beatty’s latest business venture in the Canadian public-private partnership (P3) market. Ms. Han will oversee the new Toronto, Ontario office of Balfour Beatty Capital – Canada.

A veteran of the Canadian P3 market, also known as PPP or Alternative Financing Procurement (AFP), Ms. Han offers almost a decade of P3 experience, having bid and closed a number of projects across Canada.

Specializing in project management with a focus on project finance, she has broad experience across a variety of sectors, including hospitals, roads, schools, transit and other social infrastructure.

Most recently, Ms. Han served as Vice President, Project Finance at Carillion Canada, Inc., a support

services and construction company, where she was responsible for leading and managing all financing aspects of project bids, with an emphasis on overseeing, evaluating and negotiating all funding competitions and security packages.

Previously, Ms. Han also spent six years working with the project finance group at Balfour Beatty Capital in the U.K., assisting the public sector in structuring affordable projects and delivering them to financial close. Her role included evaluation of shareholder returns, sensitivity analysis, and assessment of project finance models.

A native-born Canadian, Ms. Han spent a large portion of her career working in the Canadian business environment, and is extremely knowledgeable about the Canadian P3 industry. She has a strong understanding of Canada’s unique documentation procedures, project/risk allocation, and procurement processes. In addition, her professional experience working in both the U.K. and Canada gives her a deep comprehension and appreciation for the strengths of both models and systems.

Ms. Han received her B.A. (Honors) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She is also a Canadian Chartered Accountant.
