Model-turned-actress REBECCA ROMIJN is joining the cast of the hit US TV series UGLY BETTY.
The X-MEN star will take on the role of the mysterious woman behind the mask who has been plotting to take over the fictional Mode magazine, along with the show's star VANESSA WILLIAMS.
Romijn joins the cast as a series regular on Monday (11DEC06) and her first episode is expected to air in February (07).
FRIDA star SALMA HAYEK is the executive producer of the show, which is based on the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela YO SOY BETTY LA FEA.
The series has been one of the few breakout new hits during the new TV season in the US and features AMERICA FERRERA as a struggling assistant at a fashion magazine.
