A new electromagnetic flow meter from Euromag (www.euromag.it) designed for automotive coolant applications is now available in the UK from Litre Meter (www.litremeter.com).
The new MUT4000 coolant meter is designed specifically for automotive applications where high pressure and temperatures are an issue. The light, compact meter is constructed from PBT + fibre glass with a carbon steel enclosure designed to operate at a pressure rating of IP67 and maximum liquid temperature of 120°C.
The easy to install meter features a hose connection which
is available in seven sizes from ½-inch up to two inches in diameter. The new meter is the result of a close collaboration between Euromag and Lamborghini, which used the meters in the prototype of its new Reventon supercar.
The futuristic 650bhp carbon fibre bodies Reventon V12 features a cockpit styled to look like an F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It surges from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 mph.
Euromag sales manager Annalisa Riva said: “Our sensor was installed in a prototype of the new Reventon, which Lamborghini is about to launch. The MUT4000 was built to measure the flow rate of fluid in the engine’s cooling system and fluid used in the air conditioning system.
“The Lamborghini tests have been successful but it is only using the sensor in its prototype at present. However, Volkswagen in Europe is starting to purchase this unit and Chrysler in the US is using the Euromag coolant meter on each of its range of trucks.”
Litre Meter, a leading manufacturer and supplier of custom flow meters, is the UK distributor for the Euromag Electromagnetic range of flow meters. As with Litre Meter’s own range of custom flow meters, Euromag’s range is designed to operate accurately in many applications in the automotive industry.
