2012-06-21 10:16:53 - Euro 2012 Frenzy at The Q Underground at Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha

As UEFA Euro 2012 moves into its final stages, football frenzy is touching new highs at The Q Underground, Dubai’s new ‘party venue’ at the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha.
The hotel organised a special event during the early stages of the tournament at this special venue on June 11 when the eagerly awaited France vs England match took place, inviting its exclusive corporate clients, business associates, travel trade professionals and select media representatives to witness the highly charged face-off live on giant LG cinema 3D screens and cheer their favourite sides.
The mood was electric, turbo-charged with live DJ, the ambience oozing football, with Euro Cup branding and flags everywhere. The Q Underground is unique and cosy, with sofas,

couches and bean bags conveniently spread around to lounge in comfortably and watch the action unfold on the giant screens, sipping beverages and munching sports bar menu fare. Or you could also sit at the large and attractive bar where the staffis attentive and the service flawless.
Roxana Jaffer, Resident Director Sovereign Hotels Dubai, Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha, was present as Roy Hodgson’s England side took on Laurent Blanc’s France at Donetsk in the Group D opener. The old rivals played according to expectations, England solid and defensive, France skilful in weaving passes, with the honours even as France came from behind to force a 1-1 draw, defender JoleanLescott scoring for England and Samir Nasri striking back for France.
“It was a great evening all round. Although the game didn’t rise to any great heights the intense rivalry between the two teams kept the adrenaline flowing, with the tense moments bringing the spectators to the edge of their seats. The match certainly set the mood for the 24 day football fiesta featuring 31 matches between 16 teams at one venue – The Q Underground! The excitement apart, watching the matches on the large LG3D smart TVs with cinema screen design is an incredibly immersive experience,” said General Manager JSAnand.
“It’s great to begin our innings as a party venue with a football extravaganza like Euro 2012, which generates even more excitement than the World Cup across Europe. And that excitement can be felt in Dubai as well among both expats and locals, given the fact that the UAE is a football crazy nation. We have special offers for our guests throughout the tournament. There’s plenty of fun and competition still in store until the final on July 1,” he adds.
If the June 11 event is any indication, Dubai has a happening new party venue in The Q Underground, a place where its sports crazy residents can watch their favourite international sportsevents live while spending a relaxed and enjoyable evening unwinding after a stressful day’s work.
Add another feather to the cap of the luxurious 4-star Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha, which has a well-earned reputation for offering exceptional value.
