Ethertronics Appoints Joe Wu as Vice President of Global Manufacturing Operations

In his new role, Wu will be responsible for worldwide supply chain management, including the development

and expansion of Ethertronics' Chinese Manufacturing Center, which opened in 2007 and houses final assembly, testing and quality control for the company's extensive line of antenna products. Wu is also charged with leading the company's strategic sourcing for its broad range of products, including its Savvi(TM) ceramic antennas and Tavvel(TM) actively tuned antennas and modules.

Wu most recently served as corporate vice president and president of China Operations for LightPath Technologies, Inc., responsible for all functions as the managing director corporate governor for the China region including manufacturing, quality control and assurance, research and development, strategy and business development, overall P&L, sales and marketing, and finance. During his tenure there, Wu initiated and led the efforts on several strategic moves in China including the creation of a joint venture with a Chinese partner and the budgeting and planning for the company's first wholly owned subsidiary in China, which today manufactures more than 40 products constituting more than 80 percent of the corporation's total revenue. Wu also served as general manager and member of the board of directors for LightPath Optical Instrumentation (Shanghai) LTD.

Previously Wu was president and co-owner of Shanghai-based Nova Consulting, LTD, where he led a consulting team focused on sales and marketing strategies for small businesses and manufacturing outsourcing in China for U.S. companies. Wu's extensive experience also includes serving as member, CEO executive staff for Oplink Communications, Inc., as well as senior optical scientist for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Laser Science and Engineering Division.

Wu earned his bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing; his master's of science from Zheijiang University, Hangzhou, China; his Ph.D. from Shanghai Institute of Optics & Fine Mechanics; and his executive master's of business administration from the Olin School of Business, Washington University in St. Louis.
