JERRY SEINFELD TO QUIT ARENA SHOWS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:12 pm

Funnyman JERRY SEINFELD is to quit performing stand-up comedy in huge venues, insisting he’s too old to carry on.
The 58-year-old comedian played one of the biggest shows of his career at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena last year (11), and this month (May12) he’s due to entertain 16,000 fans over two gigs in England.
But he’s now revealed the shows are likely to be among his last ever arena concerts as he’s planning to walk away from high-profile stand-up comedy before he’s too old to get the laughs.
Seinfeld tells Live magazine, "I won’t perform this size of show again. These things have their critical mass, which does not sustain indefinitely. I’m 57 now (sic). Do you really want to see a 67-year-old guy in front of 10,000 people? I don’t want to. I’m going to let it wither and die."

Hip-hop pioneer and BEASTIE BOYS icon ADAM YAUCH has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 47.
The rapper, also known as MCA, died on Friday (04May12), according to GlobalGrind.com.
Yauch was diagnosed with a tumour in his salivary gland in 2009 and underwent surgery and radiation therapy treatment. He also adopted a strict vegan diet and turned to ancient Chinese medicines to help him beat the disease.
A Brooklyn, New York native, Yauch formed the Beastie Boys in 1978 with his high school friends Mike D, John Berry and Kate Schellenbach.
The group started out as a hardcore punk band, but later developed into a rap trio with Yauch and Mike D teaming up with pal Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz and they landed their big break after working with a young Rick Rubin, who would sign them to his newly-formed Def Jam Recordings in 1984.
They released their debut album, Licensed to Ill, in 1986 and went on to make a further seven records, with their last, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two released last year (11).
The Beastie Boys won three Grammy Awards and scored nominations for hit songs like Check Your Head, Sabotage and Ch-Check It Out.

Taking to the stage without his bandmate, Ad-Rock - alongside Mike D and longtime DJ sidekick Mixmaster Mike - read out a statement from Yauch, who thanked the Beastie Boys’ fans, writing, "This induction is as much ours as it is yours."

And even though stay-at-home mum Richardson insists the secret to their longevity is "amnesia", the 62 year old insists their bond has greatly improved over time.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

MOTLEY CRUE star VINCE NEIL linked up with the spirit of FRANK SINATRA during an episode of spooky U.S. TV show GHOST ADVENTURES and was left shocked and overwhelmed by the experience.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

Embattled actor RYAN O’NEAL has postponed plans to undergo cancer treatment until after he has completed a promotional tour for his new memoir.
The Love Story star revealed he had been diagnosed with stage two prostate cancer last month (Apr12), but assured fans he would bounce back from the health crisis as the disease had been "detected early" and the prognosis was "positive for a full recovery".
He was due to appear on U.S. breakfast show Today on Monday (30Apr12) to advertise his new tell-all tome about his longtime love affair with Farrah Fawcett, Both Of Us: My Life With Farrah, but O’Neal had to pull out at the last minute after falling ill.
He returned to the New York-based programme on Tuesday (01May12) and explained that he had suffered a panic attack moments before going on air on Monday - although he’s unsure why.
He said, "I don’t know what was wrong. Terror, perhaps? I just broke out into a terrible sweat, you wouldn’t have wanted me! So I went home and went to bed, and I feel better now. They (doctors) said that’s what it was (a panic attack), but I had never had one before… I’m OK now." The 71 year old, who previously battled leukaemia, went on to confess he’s yet to begin the exhaustive process to treat the cancer and try to put a stop to the spread of the disease.
When asked how he was feeling, he told host Matt Lauer, "Inundated with the disease, actually. I’m working to cure it… I’ve chose (sic) to go to you first, and then I’ll do something about it when I go back to California."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

U.S. Secretary of State HILARY CLINTON has turned down the chance to play actor JASON SEGEL’s mum on hit TV comedy HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star publicly appealed to Clinton to play his on-screen character Marshall Eriksen’s mother during a March (12) interview, but the busy politician has politely declined the offer, although she admits she fully intends on starring opposite the funnyman in the future when her schedule dies down.
Internet blog Politico has obtained a copy of Clinton’s rejection letter, which reads, "I was delighted to read about your interest in sharing the big screen with me. As you can imagine, I am a little occupied at the moment, but perhaps someday I can help you forget Sarah Marshall… again.
"My only condition is that there be Muppets involved, and that is non-negotiable. In the meantime, you have my best wishes for continued success with your career." Segel revived the Muppets for last year’s (11) hit family film.

RYAN O’NEAL DOESN’T KNOW WHERE SON GRIFFIN IS IMPRISONED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

Cancer-stricken RYAN O’NEAL has lost contact with his troubled son Griffin because the actor has no idea where he has been imprisoned.
The Love Story star’s eldest son was sentenced to 16 months behind bars in February (12) following a car crash last August (11), when he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.
But O’Neal, who last month (Apr12) announced he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, reveals he’s still yet to visit Griffin, 47 - the actor’s son with late actress Joanna Moore.
During an appearance on U.S. talk show The View on Tuesday (01May12), he confessed, "I don’t even know what prison he’s in. They don’t tell me." He did not elaborate on who was banning him from finding out where his son is being held.
But O’Neal admits he has patched up his differences with his daughter Tatum - Griffin’s older sister - and she has been taking care of her sick father after overcoming her own issues at a drug rehabilitation centre earlier this year (Feb12).
He added, "Tatum is out and about and doing much better, looks wonderful and is happy. She’s always happiest when I’m ill because she can mother me and fawn over me and take care of me." O’Neal has another son, Redmond, with the late Farrah Fawcett. He is also tackling substance abuse issues in a court-ordered drug treatment programme.
