RANDY: ‘JACKSONS ARE ‘FINE’ WITH BROTHER’S WILL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:57 pm

RANDY JACKSON has denied his famous siblings have been squabbling over their brother MICHAEL’s will - insisting the whole clan is happy with how the late King of Pop’s money has been shared out.
It was believed that Jackson matriarch Katherine had been handed 40 per cent of Michael’s assets in his last will and testament, with another 40 per cent going to his three kids, and a 20 per cent share to be donated to charities.
Earlier this month (Oct09), it was discovered that Katherine will only receive her share of the Thriller singer’s estate until she dies, when the money will automatically transfer to Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and Prince Michael II aka Blanket, seven.
She is to receive a monthly allowance of $86,000 (£57,300) to ensure she can provide for herself and the three grandkids now in her care.
And despite the singer failing to leave any money to his eight siblings, younger brother Randy insists the family has no qualms with their late brother’s decision.
He tells TMZ.com, "The family is fine with it. Who cares about the money? We have enough money. If I cared about the money, I’d be doing a reality show and doing interviews."

BEWLEY STRUGGLED WITH GUARDED NEW MOON CAST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:54 pm

TWILIGHT newcomer CHARLIE BEWLEY found it tough to make friends with the close-knit cast - insisting it took his famous co-stars a long time to accept him.
The Brit actor plays a vampire in upcoming sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon, a role which saw him act alongside the franchise’s superstar leads Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
But Bewley confesses that due to the huge interest in the film’s stars, he struggled to feel accepted in the Twilight clique - because they are constantly "on their guard".
He says, "It’s a very young crowd. They are very talked about . So they’re on their guard a lot of the time. It’s just human nature for it to take time for everyone to gel, to bond and (for them) to suss people out." But things soon thawed after shooting began: "After two or three days of shooting, I was starting to get a lot warmer with some of the people I had not met before … they are really cool people, wonderful people."

FRANCIS DEFENDS DECISION TO JOIN GAY-RIGHTS MARCH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:54 pm

JOE FRANCIS has hit back at allegations he only took part in a gay rights march to boost his battered public image - insisting he understands how it feels to be stripped of your civil rights.
The Girls Gone Wild founder took to the street of Washington, D.C. on Sunday (11Oct09) to protest outside the White House as part of the The National Equality March.
Lesbian actress Cynthia Nixon and gay-rights advocate Lady Gaga also addressed the rally to offer their support.
However, critics suggested Francis only joined the demonstration to battle negative publicity following his recent bar brawl with model Jayde Nicole, in which he is accused of punching her and dragging her to the ground by her hair.
But the adult film mogul insists he knows what it’s like to fall victim to the prejudices of America’s conservatives - because he was handed a 12 months jail term in 2008 on prostitution and child abuse charges in connection to using underage girls in his strip films.
He tells New York Gossip column Page Six, "With the gay movement, it’s personal. The same religious-right a**holes who took away my civil rights and put me in jail for a year because they don’t like what I do for a living have taken away gay rights. I know firsthand how it feels to have your civil rights stripped from you." But Francis hinted he may have had other things on his mind, adding, "P.S., lots of lesbians marched, too." Francis is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for the altercation with Nicole.

TYSON IN TEARS OVER MENTOR’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 pm

Hard man MIKE TYSON fought back tears on national television in America on Monday (12Oct09) when he remembered the boxing coach who rescued him from a life on the streets and turned him into a champion.
In new documentary Tyson, the former fighter gets emotional as he talks about Cus D’Amato - the man he regarded as a leading father figure in his life - and he fell apart again when he was asked to talk about his old coach, who died in 1985, during an appearance on TV show Oprah.
Stumbling over his words, Tyson said he had no interest in boxing once his mentor passed away, stating, "I didn’t have any real desire to do that stuff… fight anymore." And the tragedy sent him off down a path of self-destruction.
Tyson added, "I started drinking and going to drugs a lot." Tearing up, the former fighter told host Oprah Winfrey that it was D’Amato who told him to hide his emotions, so he could be "a god".
At one point, the champ struggled to continue as he recalled watching classic fights with his mentor and friend.
Tyson recalled, "We would watch all the great fights and I would ask him, ‘How do you beat him?’ "(He’d just say) ‘No one could beat Muhammad Ali…’ That’s what I was taught… I listened to my mentor and he said Ali is the best ever and I agree with him."

BRINKLEY AND COOK SETTLE COURT BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 pm

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY and her ex-husband PETER COOK have finally made peace - the warring former couple has reached an agreement to end an ongoing court battle over their kids.
The former supermodel split from the businessman in 2008 over claims he was addicted to porn. She later filed for divorce when it emerged he had conducted an affair with his teenage assistant in 2004.
The couple endured a bitter court battle over the details of their divorce, which was finally settled in October last year (08).
But they headed back to court this month (Oct09) with both parties demanding the other be jailed for breaking specific terms of the settlement, with Cook accusing his ex-wife of trying to "ruin" his relationship with their children.
They was due back in front of a judge in New York on Tuesday (13Oct09) but Brinkley’s attorneys issued a statement claiming they have reached an agreement and the case has been settled.
The statement reads, "Ms. Brinkley is completely vindicated. The parties’ settlement approved by the judge today does not grant any of the requests in Peter Cook’s motion which dragged Ms. Brinkley back to court. Each and every one of Mr. Cook’s vindictive requests including, among others, his request for Ms. Brinkley to undergo anger management, for the appointment of a parenting coordinator, and for the children’s passports to be held by a third party, are not provided for in the document agreed to by both parties.
"Since Mr. Cook lost the custody battle in the divorce trial, he has staged a relentless smear campaign against Ms. Brinkley. Ms. Brinkley chose not to exercise her right to hold Mr. Cook in clear violation of their original confidentiality agreement until Ms. Brinkley was served this unfounded and unwarranted court action at her children’s school holiday concert this past December. It was only at that time that she agreed to file her counterclaims which she hereby withdraws today in an effort to put this all behind her.
"For the sake of the children, she is hopeful that Mr. Cook will cease his attacks on the children’s mother.â€

SINGER CONSIDERING X-MEN RETURN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 pm

Director BRYAN SINGER is eyeing a return to the X-MEN franchise - because he would love to work with HUGH JACKMAN again.
The Usual Suspects filmmaker helmed the first two installments in the comic book movie series, but turned down the chance to direct the third film so he could work on 2006’s Superman Returns.
But after seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the prequel which documented the life of Jackman’s mutant character, Singer admits he is in talks with Fox studios about being put in charge of another spin-off.
He says, "I’m still looking to possibly returning to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it. I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast.
"The excitement about working in science fiction and fantasy is - the stories, if they are good, are about the human condition."

WINFREY INSPIRED PERRY TO OPEN UP ABOUT ABUSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 pm

TYLER PERRY was inspired to open up about his horrific childhood - after watching OPRAH WINFREY reveal her own dealings with abusive relatives.
The Madea Goes To Jail filmmaker penned a candid email to fans earlier this month (Oct09), explaining how he had suffered violence at the hands of his father and paternal grandmothers, and had even been molested by a man in his neighbourhood.
But it was only after viewing a 1991 special episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show - in which she told her audience she had been verbally and physically abused by family members - that Perry understood how cathartic letting your secrets out could be.
He tells People.com, "After I found a dictionary and looked up ‘cathartic,’ I realised what she (Winfrey) was saying, so I started writing." And the director believes his co-produced movie with Winfrey, Precious, is going to break further boundaries on the topic of child abuse.
He adds, "The story of abuse in our community and in many communities is still a taboo subject."
