No stopping
A German nursing home has created a pretend bus stop in a bid to stop Alzheimer’s patients from walking off. The stop - which is outside Dusseldorf’s Benrath Centre - looks exactly the same as the others in the city, except no buses stop there.
The home came up with the idea after many patients escaped and boarded buses in the hope of going home, but got lost and had to be returned by police.
The centre teamed up with local care association, the Old Lions, and went to the Rheinbahn transport network which was happy to provide the bus stop to nowhere.
Old Lions Chairman Franz-Josef Goebel said: ‘It sounds funny, but it helps.’
