Small car

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:20 pm

A German man has won compensation from a car maker after he claimed his feet were too big to use the accelerator on his new car.
A judge Wiesloch said the car makers should have catered for Michael Herzog’s size 12 feet.
He went to court complaining the area around the accelerator of his new Volvo C70 coupe was too small to accommodate his feet.
The court ruled his feet were not abnormally large and the judge said the dealer should give the German five per cent off the price of his new car.
Herzog was awarded a £1,350 refund to pay for a specially made pair of shoes that allowed him to squeeze his foot into the space.

Windy plea

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:20 pm

A French doctor has urged his fellow countrymen to start letting off wind.
Frederic Saldmann says they should give free rein to break wind, burping and sweating to reduce the risk of cancer.
In his book, ‘Le Grand Menage’, Dr. Saldmann says the French should feel comfortable to fluctuate.
Getting rid of the two litres of gas produced each day is a "natural process" and retaining it can be harmful to the intestines.
Similarly, he says his countrymen should feel free to belch at will and certainly after each meal.
This, he says, is the best way to reduce the risk of getting a hiatal hernia, an ailment which affects almost a third of French people.

Warden Burl Cain, of the Louisiana State Penitentiary, said: "I love that bear being right where it is. "I tell you what, none of our inmates are going to try to get out after dark and wander around when they might run into a big old bear. It’s like having another guard at no cost to the taxpayer." Prison officials believe they have eight to 10 bears on the grounds, said Gary Young, head of the executive management office at the prison. The last recorded escape at the prison was nearly three years ago, and the inmate was quickly recaptured before leaving the grounds.

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:20 pm

A US man has taught his pet goldfish to limbo dance under a bar.
Dr. Dean Pomerleau, 41, from Los Angeles, has also trained Comet to play football, basketball, fetch with a hoop, slalom around a series of poles and push a rugby ball over a set of posts.
He used a training technique called positive reinforcement to train two-year-old common goldfish Comet to carry out the tricks.

Naked work

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:20 pm

A new British TV show will ask people to go to work naked.
The plan is first for BBC cameras to follow fully clothed employees at work and get their views on nudity before being asked to pose for life-drawing classes to see how comfortable they feel naked in public.
After several weeks, the firm’s staff will all be asked to come to work in the nude for an event called Naked Friday.
The idea is to look at people’s attitudes to nudity, body image and the role clothes play in office hierarchy.
In a letter inviting companies to take part in BBC3’s ‘Naked Office’, producers assure potential participants the project would be a "very productive day as well as a day to remember".
